Process Condensate Stripping System

Technip Process Condensate Stripping System is used to reduce the volatile components like methanol, ethanol, Ammonia, & H2S from the process condensate generated from the ZLD & MEE Plant. Process Condensate stripping system which helps to reduce to biological treatment & CPU treatment cost for the process condensate water and reuse into the processes.

System Features and Operation

  • Stripping Column Integration: Process Condensate generated from MEE & ZLD Plant containing volatile organics such as methanol, ammonia, and H₂S enters a packed stripping column, where it is contacted counter-currently by steam or air. These contaminants are stripped into the vapor phase, condensed, and separated for recovery or safe disposal — yielding purified process water at the column base.

  • Heat Recovery and Process Optimization: The system integrates efficient heat recovery by utilizing waste heat from MEE or process plants to power the stripping column, minimizing operating costs and environmental impact. Real-time monitoring ensures stable pH and temperature, maximizing contaminant removal efficiency and system uptime.

Advantages and Value

  • Efficient Volatile Removal: Removes ammonia, methanol, and H2S, significantly reducing COD/BOD and improving the purity of recovered water for reuse, cooling tower & fermentation process.

  • Improves ZLD/MEE Performance: Minimizes fouling, scaling, and corrosive loads in downstream evaporators and ZLD units, extending equipment life and reducing maintenance frequency.

  • Environment & Cost Benefits: Ensures discharge compliance, recycles valuable water, and reduces effluent disposal and regulatory costs.

  • Supports Water Circularity: Enables high recovery and reuse by allowing treated condensate to be further polished, advancing sustainable water management and reducing freshwater dependency.

Applications :-

The system is widely used across various industries, including:

  • Molasses & Grain Based Distilleries
  • Chemical and Agro-Chemical Industries
  • Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs)
  • Landfill Leachate Treatment Facilities
